Our Recruitment Process
At Starfish Kids Club, safeguarding children is our highest priority.
We follow safer recruitment practices in line with Ofsted requirements to ensure that all staff working with children are suitable, safe and share our commitment to providing high-quality childcare.
Application & Interview
Successful applicants will be invited to an in-person interview with two members of our management team.
References & DBS Check
Candidates who are successful at interview will be asked to provide two references, including one from their most recent employer. We will also carry out an Enhanced DBS check, funded by Starfish Kids Club. Successful candidates will be required to join the DBS Update Service.
Paid Trial Shift
Once satisfactory references and DBS clearance have been received, candidates will be invited to attend a paid trial shift. This allows both you and us to see whether the role is the right fit.
Employment Offer
Following a successful trial shift and completion of all recruitment checks, we will be delighted to welcome you to the Starfish team.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
