Childcare Vouchers, Funding & Discounts

At Starfish Kids Club, we understand that childcare costs are an important consideration for families. As an Ofsted-registered provider, we are able to accept a range of government schemes, workplace childcare vouchers, and other funding options to help make childcare more affordable.

Tax-Free Childcare

We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments (TFC), helping you save up to 20% on your childcare costs.

Tax-Free Childcare is a government scheme that helps working parents with the cost of childcare.

How it works:

  • You set up a childcare account and pay money into it

  • The government adds extra money to your account

  • For every £8 you pay in, the government adds £2

  • You then use this account to pay your childcare provider

You can get up to:

  • £500 every 3 months per child (up to £2,000 per year)

  • £1,000 every 3 months for a disabled child (up to £4,000 per year)

Eligibility usually depends on parents being in work and children being aged 11 or under (or 16 or under if disabled).

Universal Credit Childcare Support

We can provide receipts and payment records to support parents claiming
childcare costs through Universal Credit.

How it works:

  • You pay for your childcare costs first

  • You then report these costs to Universal Credit

  • Universal Credit may then reimburse part of your childcare costs

You may also be able to claim childcare costs after they have been paid, depending on your assessment period.

We recommend arranging regular (e.g. monthly) payments where possible, as this can help ensure childcare costs are included in each assessment period.

Childcare Vouchers & Employer Schemes

We accept a range of workplace childcare voucher schemes, including employer-sponsored childcare support programmes such as Bright Horizons Family Solutions and similar providers.

If your employer offers a childcare scheme, please contact us and we will be happy to confirm compatibility.

Childcare Grants (Students)

We are able to accept Childcare Grant payments for eligible students in higher education. Eligibility depends on household income, number of dependent children, and course type.

Sibling Discount

We aim to keep our childcare costs as affordable as possible for families.

We offer a 7% sibling discount for families with three or more children attending our clubs.
