Starfish Kids Club Limited is a non-profit making company which was started in July 2000 to run an after school club based at Somerhill Junior School in Somerhill Road, Hove.

Starfish Kids Club Limited is run by an Executive Committee and broadly aims to support local families and children in building a sense of community by running an accessible after school club. We now also provide a Holiday club at Somerhill School, during all school holidays except Christmas

After School Childcare

Starfish Kids Club provides after school and out of term time childcare and play opportunities for 4 to 12 year olds, following one full terms attendance at school.
A deposit is required for the After school club and names are added to a waiting list if know spaces are available.
The Club seeks to provide a stimulating and challenging environment that maximises the choice and control that children have over their play. We at Starfish believe that in order to cater for each individual child’s needs at each stage in their development it is important to provide the opportunity for reasonable risk taking through play which can stimulate the children’s imagination and facilitate learning and development. The Club aims to manage the balance between the need to offer risk and the need to keep children safe from harm.

Starfish Kids Club is committed to providing high quality play for local children in a happy and welcoming environment. All our staff are trained and experienced in play work and are all CRB cleared. We aim to run safe, engaging and accessible activities within the after school club.

The Afterschool club is open throughout term time from 15.15 to 18.00 and available to children from local Brighton and Hove schools. Each session costs £9.45, billed monthly by invoice or Standing order The Club offers activities such as arts, crafts, games, books, cooking, pottery, painting, junk modelling and sports. Children are given a light nutritious snack during the session which is provided by local organic food supplier the facilities include a kitchen, main hall, quiet area, playing field, adventure playground and enclosed ball area.

Our Holiday club runs from 8.30am – 5.30pm during School holidays and is available to Brighton and Hove schools. We offer the same activities as our after school club but also offer outside trips and workshops from specialist tutors

Starfish Kids Club Limited is a local company with charitable aims, run by an Executive Committee. We have a Memorandum & Articles of Association, which sets out our objectives and also lays out the rules by which Starfish Kids Club is run. Copies of these documents are available on request.

Our Breakfast club is open throughout term time from 07.45 to 08.45 and available to children from Davigdor Infants & Somerhill Junior School. Each session costs £3, pre booked or £3.50 pay as you go. As well as a varied number of activities, the breafkfast club offers a healthy breakfast to help provide the energy needed to get the most out of the day.
